Llantwit Major 14’s produced a stunning first half performance as they run in 6 unanswered tries during a ruthless 30 minute period of play against Caldicot. Having made the 50 mile journey Sunday morning the away team struggled to find attacking rhythm in the early stages and despite some resilient defence they were punished as the home team countered pressure to break out and score 3 sucker punch tries.

Bayley Hillberg started the scoring before Tyler Lee and Aaron Moce added two quick fire tries. Hillberg added his second not long after and that score was soon followed by a 90 meter break out as Dylan rees finished off a move started by number eight Declan Lester. Tyler Lee added another in the first half as the home side took a commanding 38-0 lead.

Caldicot’s industries number eight got their first try of the second half before Llantwit responded with a Keenan Faulkner effort. Faulkner’s day got worse moments later as he was yellow carded for a stray elbow and Caldicot took advantage of the numerical advantage to add another score. Caldicot could have added more scores but that final pass eluded them most of the day and Llantwit had become expert has capitalising on the loose passes. Lee added his third before Faulkner finished the scoring to give the home side a flattering 57-12 victory. A good outing for the home side which saw their highest match day turnout of the season and new boys Charlie Taylor and Aaron Howse get in some valuable game experience.
